Let’s be frank, when you found out you were relocating to the Salt Lake City area, you may have been a tad bit apprehensive. Utah, specifically Salt Lake City, is given very little attention in the media. When you hear about Salt Lake City and/or Utah, images of vast temples and polygamist families may come to mind.

While the aforementioned do occur in Utah, it is not all Utah or Salt Lake City has to offer. The culture of Utah is one of happiness. I have found this to be icing on the cake in relocating to SLC. People have gone above and beyond to help me out from little things to small things.

If you are an outdoors aficionado, then you will be in heaven. Park City is just a hop, skip, and a jump away. You can ski, hike, climb, kayak, bike, + more in Utah. If you are seeking adventure, then camping in Southern Utah has your name written all over it!

Utahans have an entrepreneurial spirit which means it is possible to shop local and be more than happy with it. Local shopping rivals that of places like Portland, Oregon & Austin, Texas. Shopping local also includes eating and drinking local. The Salt Lake City area also has a thriving alcoholic drinks business with Sugarhouse Distilleries & Five Wives Vodka calling the area home. There are also vineyards in the state which means local wine! Local dining ranges from high-end farm-to-table style (Forage) to delectable delights such as The Garage on Beck.

Utah also has a great arts & culture scene. Salt Lake City is home to one of America’s oldest dance companies (Ballet West). The Leonardo museum has countless exhibits and even hosts trivia nights.

Fashion can be considered a passion of many Utahns. Provo has a fashion week held in the fall and the spring. Salt Lake City is home to many renowned fashion bloggers soon to be featured on our site.

Regardless of if you are into the great outdoors, food, art, or clothing. Salt Lake City has it all to offer! & theSociety regularly updates our events calendar so you can stay in the loop!
